I've been so busy since getting back to Saudi but today it was lovely to take a trip out for a coffee with a friend and guess what?! We actually sat outside! It was two in the afternoon and it was thirty seven degrees centigrade. I am so excited that the weather is just going to get better and better from now on.

I love, love, love winter in Saudi! It's warm and the sun is almost always still shining but there is a wonderful breeze and it is cool enough to get outside and explore. Last winter, the Covid situation really pushed us to enjoy the outdoors more and as a result we went as a family to see so many things that we may have missed had we felt more comfortable going to the mall or kids play centres. We were able to do some exploring of Qatif, Hofuf and Jubail and visit Judah's thumb as well as finding lots to do in Khobar and Dammam. You can get inspiration from last winters adventures here: https://www.sandcastlesinsaudi.com/post/10-family-days-out-in-the-eastern-province-of-saudi-arabia

As a result of last years exploring I have made a wish list of all the things nearby that I would like to do this winter and I cant wait to start working my way through them very soon.

1. See the Flamingoes in Jubail

2. Go Sand Sledging in Abqaiq

3. Go to Souq al Qaisariya in Alhasa

4. Go Strawberry picking at the hydroponic farm in Qatif

5. See the Stars at night at Judahs Thumb

6. Go Paragliding Over Jubail

7. Walk around the old streets of Tarout

8. Go Shark Teeth Hunting at Khurais

9. Dig up Desert Roses near Khobar

10. Visit the Yellow Lake at Al Hasa

What is on your wish list for this winter? Do you have anything you have been wanting to do or places you want to see? Make the intention to do it this winter, you will be pleased that you did! If you have been to any of the places on my list, let me know how you found it! If you want to follow my Saudi adventures this year then make sure to follow along on Tik Tok or Instagram.
